The SME nurse's office protects and promotes student health with a focus on building skills in health education, advocacy and self-reliance. 

The following over-the-counter (OTC) medications are stocked in the nurse’s office:

• acetaminophen (Tylenol)
• ibuprofen (Advil)
• cetirizine (Zyrtec)
• calcium carbonate (TUMS)
• hydrocortisone cream
• saline eye drops

Parent/guardian permission is required each school year to allow OTC medication administration and can be completed in Skyward.

Other nurse office responsibilities:

• Medical emergency response
• Chronic condition management
• Immunization requirements
• Concussions/sports injuries
• Surgery/long-term illness accommodations
